Natural Wonders & Lakes

·  Lake Riffelsee: Accessible via the Gornergrat Railway (exit at Rotenboden station), this high-alpine lake is famous for its crystal-clear waters that offer a perfect, windless reflection of the Matterhorn.

·  Gornergorge (Gornerschlucht): Located just a short 20-minute walk from the southern edge of Zermatt village, this dramatic canyon features wooden walkways built directly into the cliffs, allowing you to walk right above the rushing, glacial melt-waters. [1, 2, 3, 4]

·  The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing: Take the continuous cable car route from Zermatt all the way across the border into Cervinia, Italy for a quick day trip to experience Italian culture and cuisine in the Alps.

·   Valais Region Vineyards & Castles: For a change of scenery, take the train down into the Rhône Valley to visit the historic town of Sion, which features two hilltop castles (Tourbillon and Valère), or tour the steeply terraced vineyards of the Valais Wine Region.

Final room assignments are at the trip leader(s) discretion as room assignment changes may be required up to the time of trip departure.
